Action points from last time have been dealt with except the following:

The blog post about Klaus's seminar is ready to be published (prepared by Paul K) and the one about two seminars ago which was supposed to be prepared by Angela will be skipped as we don't know when Angela will return to work.

Next seminar: Christie Peacock and the SIDAI experience

Christie's seminar is well underway with the help of Ewen, Peter, Wubalem, Simret and Meron. The seminar will take place on Thu. 5 from 1100 to 1200 and will be broadcast (and recorded) on WebEx from the Addis info centre, i.e. with possibly weak sound quality for other offices.

The WonkComms seminar will happen but will not be a LLT. Susan and Tezira will organise this (see action point above). Elisabeth Waithanji's seminar may also happen - also not as a LLT - as a LPGII seminar. ACTION: Susan to contact Elisabeth Waithanji and inform her to organise a seminar as LLPGII.

2014

Vish mentioned: "We recently had Karen Nelson, President of JCVI here. She reckons we can get Craig Venter to visit next year. We should work on this". Vish will explore this with Suzanne and her team, ideally to organise around the 20+20 anniversary in November.

AOB

Angela's away for a few weeks (or months) and needs to be replaced. She helped Susan with proofreading etc. and that could be partly taken care of by Paul Karaimu. The coordination work around LLTs etc. that Angela had an oversight on could be delegated to Nancy Moss.

The next meeting will take place on Friday 6 September (without Ewen, traveling) from 3-4pm and then another one will take place with him on Thursday 12 September from 11am to 12 pm.
